South Africa Culture

In general, in black people, their belief is still based on the powerful and masculine gods, the spirit of the ancestors, and supernatural powers. They also justify polygamy and the dowry (lobolo) will often be paid.

For African people, buffalo have a more role. Buffalo is identified as a symbol of wealth and animal sacrifice. For art, South Africa has several cave and rock paintings by the San Tribe. Some of the paintings are 26,000 years old. In South Africa there is a dance that is performed wearing Wellington boots. There is even a dance known as the Gumboot Dance. In addition there is also a traditional dance called the Vokspele Dance. And here are some of the cultures found in South Africa.

Traditional Clothes

Traditional South African clothing is worn, such as long dresses for example wear. For, in South Africa it is known as the Madiba shirt. These fabrics are then cut into garment shapes. In the Eastern Cape, South Africa we find the Xhosa people, the popular style clothing of a woman in this region is modern

Mbaco's “Mbaco Clothing” is a hundred percent cotton fabric that comes in three primary and traditional colors for the region: cream, red and orange.

How? The culture there is not much different from Indonesia, right? They have festivals, traditional clothes and even special dances from the country. Well, you also have to know about the traditions that are so well known in Africa. I'm a little scary guys, but this is a tradition from Africa.

Tradition Off The Virgin

It turns out that the tradition of releasing this virgin is mostly done by South African teenagers after they graduate from school. It is quite surprising for us to hear that. Because, in general, virginity is usually given to each partner in a "SAH" bond. However, this doesn't apply to teenagers in South Africa. Whether this is due to the progress of the country or indeed excesses, of course we all cannot know. Africa, a continent with a fairly large land area. It is occupied by so many people with various tribes and traditions, most of which are indigenous. Some of the tribal communities there are still not so affected by the times.

They still adhere to traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. As a result, there are still many rituals that are still carried out by tribal people today. This ritual is known as cleaning the girls. So, the question is how do the villagers do this? This ritual is carried out by letting a girl sleep with a man. This man was also not just any man, he was a customary chosen person with the title Hyena. This Hyena man is paid to do "cleaning" by way of intercourse of course. The parents in Malawi really believe that if this ritual is not carried out then a big disaster will befall the girl. This ritual also applies to widows and women who miscarry to do the cleaning too.

Well, a tradition is hard to be separated from some countries, even tribes who really believe in a ritual like this. Unfortunately, the parents there are unaware of the dangers that lurk their daughter. This kind of sexual behavior has the potential to transmit the HIV virus to girls. This cleaning practice is blamed for the increase in HIV sufferers in Malawi. The Malawian government has tried to banish the ritual cleansing practice. One of them is by prohibiting child marriage and increasing the age of marriage from 15 years to 18 years.
